The Flint Hills Universe

Recommended Sequence

If you've reached this section of the website, then you likely understand that three books are part of The Flint Hills Trilogy.  There is, however, a story behind the story--an over-arching story, if you will.  Great Plains and The Game of Inyloct augment the plot of the Trilogy.   Certainly, you can read the Trilogy and be done with it, case closed, end of story.  However, if you have any lingering questions, answers might be found in both Great Plains and The Game of Inyloct.

So, one reasonable option is to read the Trilogy, then move on to Great Plains and The Game of Inyloct.  A second option is to first read either Great Plains or The Game of Inyloct, then tackle the Trilogy.

In either event, you'll want to read Great Plains before Tree Top Down.  Tree Top Down is not exactly a sequel to Great Plains, but it will definitely make more sense reading it afterwards.  I would call it more of a sidequel than a sequel.

Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Other Stuff

My latest book, Duncan Thurly's Golf Chronicles, is not part of the Flint Hills Universe.  Consider it a palate cleanser.  I should note, however, that Canoby Markloy does make an appearance.  An enigmatic man is hard to keep down.
